In the earlier year of the range, JD enrollment was 117,305, rising to 120,039 in the most recent year, a change of 2.33% over the period. Non-JD enrollment was 21,044 at the start and 25,077 in the latest year, representing a change of 19.16%.

The following list shows the analysis of U.S. law school enrollment trends by race/ethnicity. It highlights changes for White, Black/African American, Hispanic, Asian, American Indian/Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander, and multiracial students, including shifts in absolute counts, proportional change, and share of total enrollment.

White students: 26,044 → 24,816 (-4.72%). Decline of 1,228 students overall. Share: 18.80% → 17.10%. One of the largest absolute declines over the period. Lost the largest share of total enrollment.

Hispanic students: 5,607 → 6,204 (10.65%). Increase of 597 students overall. Share: 4.05% → 4.28%. Among the largest absolute gains over the period.

American Indian/Alaska Native students: 197 → 143 (-27.41%). Decline of 54 students overall. Share: 0.14% → 0.10%. One of the largest absolute declines over the period.

Asian students: 2,932 → 4,001 (36.46%). Increase of 1,069 students overall. Share: 2.12% → 2.76%. Among the largest absolute gains over the period.

Black/African American students: 3,427 → 3,304 (-3.59%). Decline of 123 students overall. Share: 2.47% → 2.28%. One of the largest absolute declines over the period.

Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander students: 95 → 48 (-49.47%). Decline of 47 students overall. Share: 0.07% → 0.03%. Largest proportional decrease.

Two or More Races students: 1,785 → 2,128 (19.22%). Increase of 343 students overall. Share: 1.29% → 1.47%.
