Total enrollment fluctuated between 2016 and 2025, with 5 year-over-year increases and 4 decreases. It peaked at 228 students in 2024 and was lowest at 38 in 2018. Overall, enrollment rose from 109 to 144 students, a net gain of 35 (32.1%).

Enrollment by Race/Ethnicity Changes
The percentage of white students is 1.39% and the percentage of black students is 2.78% at ZMS The Academy. 0.69% of enrolled students is Asian. Hispanic students comprise 72.22% of the student body.
Over the past 10 years, the racial composition has shifted. The percentage of white students decreased from 17.43% to 1.39%. Asian enrollment declined from 4.59% to 0.69%. Black student enrollment increased from 2.75% to 2.78%. Hispanic student representation expanded from 63.30% to 72.22%.
