Student Population Changes

The average student population over the last 11 years is 7,002 where 7,584 students are attending the school for the academic year 2024-2025.

73.29% of total students is undergraduate students and 26.71% students is graduate students. The number of undergraduate students has increased by 1,259 and the graduate enrollment has decreased by 248 over past 10 years.

The female to male ratio is 0.48 to 1 and it means that there are far more male students enrolled in WPI than female students.

Enrollment by Race/Ethnicity Changes

The percentage of white students is 55.35%. The percentage was 56.31% 10 years ago and WPI still has a high percentage of white students. 10.60% of enrolled students is Asian and 2.56% is black students. Hispanic students comprise 7.74% of the student body.

Over the past 10 years, the racial composition has shifted. The percentage of white students decreased from 56.31% to 55.35%. Asian enrollment grew from 4.84% to 10.60%. Black student enrollment increased from 2.21% to 2.56%. Hispanic student representation expanded from 6.72% to 7.74%.

The overall racial diversity, measured by the Census Bureau Diversity Index, is 0.6747 which indicates that moderately diverse. This decreased from 0.6750 a decade ago, suggesting that racial diversity has declined.
