The average student population over the last 11 years is 13,783 where 11,887 students are attending the school for the academic year 2024-2025.

Total enrollment fluctuated between 2016 and 2025, with 4 year-over-year increases and 5 decreases. It peaked at 16,822 students in 2017 and was lowest at 10,748 in 2021. Overall, enrollment dropped from 16,654 to 11,887 students, a net loss of 4,767 (28.6%).

Enrollment by Race/Ethnicity Changes

The percentage of white students is 25.36% and the percentage of black students is 58.11% at Wayne County Community College District. 0.76% of enrolled students is Asian. Hispanic students comprise 4.20% of the student body.
