Student Population Changes

The average student population over the last 11 years is 3,255 where 3,091 students are attending the school for the academic year 2024-2025.

Total enrollment fluctuated between 2016 and 2025, with 4 year-over-year increases and 5 decreases. It peaked at 3,560 students in 2018 and was lowest at 2,907 in 2022. Overall, enrollment dropped from 3,468 to 3,091 students, a net loss of 377 (10.9%).

Enrollment by Race/Ethnicity Changes

The percentage of white students is 54.09%. The percentage was 72.06% 10 years ago and SUNY Ulster still has a high percentage of white students. 2.62% of enrolled students is Asian and 5.21% is black students. Hispanic students comprise 19.57% of the student body.

Over the past 10 years, the racial composition has shifted. The percentage of white students decreased from 72.06% to 54.09%. Asian enrollment grew from 1.90% to 2.62%. Black student enrollment increased from 5.05% to 5.21%. Hispanic student representation expanded from 12.02% to 19.57%.
