Student Population Changes

Enrollment by Race/Ethnicity Changes

The percentage of white students is 51.32%. The percentage was 61.58% 10 years ago and SU still has a high percentage of white students. 3.26% of enrolled students is Asian and 5.69% is black students. Hispanic students comprise 29.58% of the student body.

Over the past 10 years, the racial composition has shifted. The percentage of white students decreased from 61.58% to 51.32%. Asian enrollment declined from 4.09% to 3.26%. Black student enrollment increased from 4.82% to 5.69%. Hispanic student representation expanded from 21.65% to 29.58%.

The overall racial diversity, measured by the Census Bureau Diversity Index, is 0.6428 which indicates that moderately diverse. This increased from 0.5683 a decade ago, suggesting that racial diversity has improved.
