Student Population Changes

The average student population over the last 11 years is 1,437 where 1,154 students are attending the school for the academic year 2024-2025.

68.54% of total students is undergraduate students and 31.46% students is graduate students. The number of undergraduate students has decreased by 430 and the graduate enrollment has decreased by 189 over past 10 years.

The female to male ratio is 1.76 to 1 and it means that there are more female students enrolled in EMU than male students.

Enrollment by Race/Ethnicity Changes

The percentage of white students is 58.06%. The percentage was 73.83% 10 years ago and EMU still has a high percentage of white students. 1.82% of enrolled students is Asian and 13.00% is black students. Hispanic students comprise 12.39% of the student body.

Over the past 10 years, the racial composition has shifted. The percentage of white students decreased from 73.83% to 58.06%. Asian enrollment declined from 2.71% to 1.82%. Black student enrollment increased from 8.40% to 13.00%. Hispanic student representation expanded from 6.15% to 12.39%.

The overall racial diversity, measured by the Census Bureau Diversity Index, is 0.6293 which indicates that moderately diverse. This increased from 0.4430 a decade ago, suggesting that racial diversity has improved.
