The average student population over the last 11 years is 4,074 where 4,259 students are attending the school for the academic year 2024-2025.

Total enrollment fluctuated between 2016 and 2025, with 4 year-over-year increases and 5 decreases. It peaked at 5,043 students in 2017 and was lowest at 2,189 in 2020. Overall, enrollment dropped from 4,450 to 4,259 students, a net loss of 191 (4.3%).

Enrollment by Race/Ethnicity Changes

The percentage of white students is 17.19% and the percentage of black students is 2.21% at Coastal Bend College. 1.13% of enrolled students is Asian. Hispanic students comprise 74.95% of the student body.

Over the past 10 years, the racial composition has shifted. The percentage of white students decreased from 27.24% to 17.19%. Asian enrollment grew from 0.70% to 1.13%. Black student enrollment decreased from 2.61% to 2.21%. Hispanic student representation expanded from 67.30% to 74.95%.
