Enrollment by Race/Ethnicity Changes

The percentage of white students is 53.93%. The percentage was 75.18% 10 years ago and Augustana still has a high percentage of white students. 2.61% of enrolled students is Asian and 4.82% is black students. Hispanic students comprise 12.92% of the student body.

Over the past 10 years, the racial composition has shifted. The percentage of white students decreased from 75.18% to 53.93%. Asian enrollment grew from 2.10% to 2.61%. Black student enrollment increased from 3.67% to 4.82%. Hispanic student representation expanded from 9.93% to 12.92%.

The overall racial diversity, measured by the Census Bureau Diversity Index, is 0.6879 which indicates that moderately diverse. This increased from 0.4218 a decade ago, suggesting that racial diversity has improved.
