Campus Safety and Security Matters at District of Columbia Colleges

For the calendar year 2023, a total of 2,075 incidents related to campus safety and securty occured at District of Columbia colleges. It includes criminal offenses, arrests, diciplinary actions, VAWA (Violence Against Women Act), and hate crimes.

By subject, there were 299 criminal offenses, 42 arrests, 1,561 disciplinary actions, 155 VAWA, and 18 hate crimes at District of Columbia colleges.

When limited to on-campus, there were 1,842 incidents reported. By incident type, 170 criminal offenses, 2 arrests, 1,524 disciplinary actions, 133 VAWA, and 13 hate crimes. In adddition, there were 12 fires reporeted at District of Columbia colleges.
