U of Chicago and 7 Schools Have The Highest SAT Score of 1,550 in 2025

The SAT test is still important in college admission and most four-years schools require or recommend the SAT score although some colleges start to exclude it recently.

The most of top ranked colleges and universities also consider the SAT score and the average score from enrolled students in the schools is much higher than the national average. The average SAT score of the top 50 colleges in order of SAT score is 1,519 while the national average score is 1,175.

For college admission in the academic year 2024-2025, University of Chicago has the highest SAT score of 1,550 from enrolled first-time students. Johns Hopkins University and Harvard University follows it with 1,550 SAT score.

Wesleyan rose 90 points from last year (2022), the highest among top 50 colleges that have the highest SAT Scores. Over the past five years, RISD has risen by 140 points, the highest of the colleges.
