At Ohio State University-Main Campus, 1,618 on-campus, 72 out-of-campus, 25 public property, 867 residence halls, and 2 on-campus fire were reported. The following table summarizes campus safety/security matters by location and types for the calendar year 2023.

The criminal and safety related action rate per 1,000 students is 27.91. When limited to on-campus, the rate per 1,000 students is 26.33. The criminal offenses rate per 1,000 students is 10.87 at OSU.

By violation type, 154 arrests, 668 criminal offenses, and 765 disciplinary actions are reported. In addition, 119 VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) and 9 hate crimes are reported at OSU.

At Ohio State University-Main Campus, 668 criminal offenses are reported including rape, fondling, incest, statutory rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, and arson.

The crminal offenses rate per 1,000 students is 10.87 regardless location and category. Limited to on-campus, crminal offenses rate per 1,000 students is 9.75 at OSU.

By crime category, Fondling was the most common with 379 cases, and Motor Vehicle Theft was the second most common with 142 cases. When restricted to campus, including residence halls, Fondling was the most common with 366 incidents, while Motor Vehicle Theft was the second most common with 114 incidents.
