The average acceptance rate of the 60 Texas colleges that have competitive admission is 77.31% for the academic year 2024-2025. Compared to last year, the acceptance rate is higher by 1.11%. The acceptance rate at 34 Texas colleges increased and the rate of 25 colleges decreased.

Rice University has the lowest (i.e. hard to admit) acceptance rate of 8.00%. Dallas Christian College (21.80%) and Trinity University (25.92%) are following it in the list of Tightest Texas 4-Years Colleges to Get In.

This ranking is only based on acceptance rates and more admission stats such as SAT and ACT scores are helpful to measure the chances to get in more accurately.

Rice University stays at first place of the lowest acceptance rate ranking since last year. Dallas Christian College ranked 2nd, up 35 places from 37th last year.
