The average acceptance rate of the 65 private Pennsylvania colleges that have competitive admission is 69.22% for the academic year 2024-2025. Compared to last year, the acceptance rate is lower by 1.78%. The acceptance rate at 28 private Pennsylvania colleges increased and the rate of 37 colleges decreased.

University of Pennsylvania has the lowest (i.e. hard to admit) acceptance rate of 5.40%. Swarthmore College (7.46%) and Carnegie Mellon University (11.66%) are following it in the list of Tightest Pennsylvania Private Colleges to Get In.

University of Pennsylvania stays at first place of the lowest acceptance rate ranking since last year. Swarthmore College also maintained its second place in the ranking.
