The average acceptance rate of the 35 North Carolina colleges that have competitive admission is 67.76% for the academic year 2024-2025. Compared to last year, the acceptance rate is lower by 1.23%. The acceptance rate at 13 North Carolina colleges increased and the rate of 22 colleges decreased.

Duke University has the lowest (i.e. hard to admit) acceptance rate of 5.71%. Davidson College (13.37%) and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (15.34%) are following it in the list of Tightest North Carolina Colleges to Get In.

This ranking is only based on acceptance rates and more admission stats such as SAT and ACT scores are helpful to measure the chances to get in more accurately.

Duke University stays at first place of the lowest acceptance rate ranking since last year. Davidson College also maintained its second place in the ranking.
