The average acceptance rate of the 33 private Illinois colleges that have competitive admission is 74.26% for the academic year 2024-2025. Compared to last year, the acceptance rate is higher by 3.34%. The acceptance rate at 17 private Illinois colleges increased and the rate of 16 colleges decreased.

University of Chicago has the lowest (i.e. hard to admit) acceptance rate of 4.48%. Northwestern University (7.69%) and Judson University (47.59%) are following it in the list of Tightest Illinois Private Colleges to Get In.

University of Chicago stays at first place of the lowest acceptance rate ranking since last year. Northwestern University also maintained its second place in the ranking.
