The average acceptance rate of the 31 public New York colleges that have competitive admission is 67.42% for the academic year 2024-2025. Compared to last year, the acceptance rate is higher by 1.75%. The acceptance rate at 17 public New York colleges increased and the rate of 13 colleges decreased.

Binghamton University has the lowest (i.e. hard to admit) acceptance rate of 38.61%. CUNY Bernard M Baruch College (47.52%) and Stony Brook University (49.04%) are following it in the list of Tightest New York Public Colleges to Get In.
