For the calendar year 2023, a total of 14,649 incidents related to campus safety and securty occured at New York colleges. It includes criminal offenses, arrests, diciplinary actions, VAWA (Violence Against Women Act), and hate crimes.
By subject, there were 2,198 criminal offenses, 240 arrests, 10,596 disciplinary actions, 1,460 VAWA, and 155 hate crimes at New York colleges.
When limited to on-campus, there were 13,441 incidents reported. By incident type, 1,558 criminal offenses, 101 arrests, 10,381 disciplinary actions, 1,279 VAWA, and 122 hate crimes. In adddition, there were 181 fires reporeted at New York colleges.
