U.S. Colleges Tuition Changes - 2022 to 2023

This page compares the U.S. Colleges and shows the tuition changes from the academic year 2021-2022 to 2022-2023. The average 2023 tuition & fees of the schools is $9,128 for state residents and $19,166 for out-of-state students. In private schools, the average tuition is $27,632.
For graduate schools, the average graduate tuition is $11,714 for state residents and $20,897 for out-of-state students. In private graduate schools, the average tuition is $19,339.
Compared to last year, the 2023 undergraduate tuition & fees has increased by 0.99% in U.S. Colleges. The graduate school tuition & fees has increased by 2.96% in U.S. Colleges.

The below table shows the 2023 Tuition Changes by State. For the tuition statistics, we include only 4-years colleges such as national universities and liberal arts colleges, but exclude community colleges and trade/vocational schools. Puerto Rico colleges has the lowest undergraduate tuition & fees of $5,681 and Virginia colleges has the highest tuition & fees of $34,133 for the academic year 2022-2023. For graduate school, Puerto Rico has the lowest graduate program tuition & fees of $6,313 and Hawaii has the highest graduate tuition of $30,806.
